Elk Lake, the first northwest basecamp resort is offering backcountry skiing in the Cascade Mountains.

Ride one of our snowburbans or snowcats into Elk Lake Resort. Stay in one of our mountain cabins and ski miles of mountain terrain.

Snowshoe around Elk Lake or rent one of our snowmobiles for the ultimate adventure fix. When ready we will transport you back to Mt Bachelor.

Elk Lake Resort offers Central Oregon back-country snowmobile rentals & exploration of high terrain rarely seen in all its winter glory. Snowmobile rentals are available on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. All helmets, goggles & safety equipment will be provided.

Ski into Elk Lake Resort. Stay at one of our mountain cabins and get transportation out of the resort.

Also running is a Saturday snowcat schedule, you can ski in for the day, have lunch and we will ride you out.

Elk Lake loop road is machined groomed for crosscountry skiers as needed. Snowmobilers are asked to be considerate and use other trails and save Elk Lake Loop road for cross-country skiers.


Elk Lake Resort offers snowshoe rentals for our visitors. This is a wonderful way to experience the surrounding back country and high terrain.

Our new snowshoes rentals come with adjustable ski poles.
